I hatched a chick last week who was perfectly fine for the first few days. It then began to act sick and appeared to get over it. I noticed yesterday that it hops on one foot and hold the other up. The foot does not appear to be broken, but it looks all clenched up. Any suggestions on what to do? It was the only one out of the batch to hatch the others were all bad so is it doomed also?
Thanks
Brandy

If his toes are curing, you might want to try extra vitamins and making him a cardboard and bandaid boot to straighten them.

i have been giving him vitamins and electrolytes...I am not sure how to make a brace

Cut a piece of very thin cardboard roughly the size of his foot. Flatten his little toes on it and tape them down with a bandaid. Don't worry if he can't walk at first. He will figure it out.
