Ok I did a stupid thing today and it's now my chick is paying the price.. I let out my old English game bantam hen and her 7 chicks for the first time today in their new grow out pen but they are so tiny ( 3 weeks old but the size of a day old regular chicken!) And they kept getting out of the fence so I kicked it sightly to scare the hen away to get her chicks from the corner and I didn't realize a T post was not secured to the fence ( it was a brace) and fell .. right on a chick ... I ran in and got it off it but it flapped away pulling it's poor legs behind it... It doesn't act hurt , it flapped around a bit but its legs just drag. I noticed a little blood on it's butt but not much. It pooped and looked normal, not bloody or anything. But what should I do? Will it recover? I brought it in for the night , gave it some food which it pecked at a little bit it won't really drink anything . Any advice is appreciated! This makes me feel terrible.

You might try some raw egg yolk and electrolyte water. I would give it some time to see if it is really injured and not just sore and needing some time to recover. You could also add some nutridrench to its water. Try not to feel too bad, these types of things happen to everyone!

It made it through the night, just gave it some sugar water because that's all I have at the moment so fingers crossed it pulls through! Thank you for the info!

I have a recipe for electrolyte water.
1 C. Water
2 tsp. Sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Baking Soda

I really hope that it recovers!
