I have 4 chicks that are about 10 weeks old. A couple of weeks ago a snake ate one of the chicks. A day or so later I noticed one of the survivors had bloody stools from time to time. I thought it might be an injury from the snake and it would or wouldn't recover. However, I continue to see bloody stools daily (don't know who is responsible) and all 4 seem very healthy. It is bright red blood with white waste material. I am not feeding any red foods.
They are on medicated feed. It never occured to me it might be cocci. Since they are all eating, drinking, pooping and active should I just wait and see what happens?
I would appreciate any input.

I broke down and got an antibiotic and today is day 5. I don't see much difference. There is still one bird, at leas,t with blood in its droppings which could mean it was one injured by the snake--but that was 4 weeks ago. I'm going to stop the anti biotic. They all seem well. Nature will have to take its course.

I meant to say the store where I bought all the chicks admitted alot had come in with cocci and many were dead on arrival or died soon after. I still paid a fortune for the medication.
