I am not saying anything bad about tsc cuz there a great place, but me and my mom went up there to see them and there was a little black and white one that was just laying there getting trampled and i looked closed and his leg was lifted up and the joint is all swollen, so my mom asked if we could take it and they gave it to us. I had a close call this morning but i helped her and shes better now. She is under a heat lamp and her eyes are open and shes peeping but she cant move really. She was smaller than all her little play mates and i have been giving her water and yogurt but i am now try to feed her some wet medicated chick starter. I need help on what to do with her leg, How can i fix it or cant i fix it? I will get pics up soon.

Thanks

You need to immobilize it so it can heal. Some tape or vet wrap should do it -- they sell the same stuff as vet wrap in drug stores for people, it's a brightly colored tape sort of thing that sticks to itself but has nothing sticky on it, doesn't actually stick to the leg. Then you need to watch the chick to make sure it doesn't get too tight and cut off circulation to the toes --easiest to do if you can leave some toes sticking out of the wrap.

It will probably not heal normally and the chick will be crippled to one extent or another, but if you don't stop the bones from moving, they will never heal.

Other than that, just regular feed, maybe just a little scrambled egg or something for supplement, maybe some vitamins if you wish (infant vitamin drops without iron for people babies.)

Good luck!

its bent so it is up against the body like it is laying down. I just rap it like that?

If you do, it will probably heal in that position. If you can, I would pull the leg away from the body and wrap just the leg.
