I have a chick fresh out of the incubator with a broken toe.

It looks like it got caught in one of the small grates on the floor of the incubator. The blood stopped almost immediately, but evidently the toe is not straight.

It hatched 48 hours ago and is doing great otherwise, very mobile, eating, drinking, etc.

The wound is scabbed up and there is no protruding bone.

Would you all just leave it? Considering the bones are now hardening after 48 hours, the chick doesn't seem phased, and there is no bleeding?

I would splint to try and straighten it, otherwise with it pointing the wrong way like that, the chick could have a lifetime of it getting caught on stuff and re-injured.

If the splint doesn't work then nothing ventured nothing gained.
