Is this normal? What is it? It should be about 20days old. I first noticed the feathers in the middle of her back curling and now it seems everything is curling up.

We have a d'Uccle chick with a single curled feather sticking up at the back of her neck. She looks really goofy, but then she already looked goofy with her feather boots anyway.

Frizzle is a dominant gene, which means one parent or the other was most likely a frizzle as well. I have several frizzle chicks at almost exactly that same stage, I can't decide if they are cute or just funny looking! My husband keeps asking, "all right, who put the chicken in the dryer?!"

Frizzle is only a gene mutation all breeds can have the frizzle gene but it is more common in some than others. What you have is a Cochin..aka Frizzle Cochin-quite common in Cochin's

we have so many we actually don't want them to hatch... the only thing you really have to worry about is Cochin's are super addictive
