Wonder if this has happened to anyone else? Of the two chicks that hatched from a batch of 12 eggs, the first was a touch and go situation, for over 24 hours. Hubby and I really didn't think this chick was gonna make it. The two look fluffy and wonderful in their brooder this morning, but on inspection, the problems child appears to only have one eye. Don't know what you can tell from this photo, but would appreciate some input. Maybe it just didn't open?

Guess I panicked because this chick was such a disaster getting out of the egg. I soaked a cotton ball in warm water and held it on the chicks eye to clear dried mucus. It had looked so flat, I wasn't thinking. Duh! Happy ending.
