A chick born yesterday early eve has a gummy eye. She also doesn't seem quite as strong as the others. I didn't notice the gumminess earlier, so I don't know if I'm unobservant or if its new. It actually looks like it might be the yolk. She doesn't seem quite as strong as the others. When she got out of her shell, you could see the goo left behind in shell attached to membrane was ever so slightly blood tinged.
My main question is: Can I wash her eye? Secondarily, does her problem sound like a set of symptoms I should worry about? Should she be separated into another brooder? That is easier said than done, but it is possible.
Thanks,
Laura
