Chick with injured leg

We just had our first emergency and I am so upset! Our chicks will be 3 days old tomorrow. We had the chicks outside and as we always do brought the dog in the run to say hello - one was running by him as he stepped and he caught her leg as he stepped and stepped on her leg - it was pulled behind her and kinda hyper extended. She is favoring it now. She will walk on it, but is standing on only one leg. I put her back in the brooder and she freaked out b/c she was alone, so I put a friend in with her. I will probably keep her and her friend in the small brooder, and the rest in the big brooder to see how she is doing.

But what do I do? What do I look for? Help! (and thanks for your help!)

What if it is not broken and how will I know if it is? It does not look visibly broken. She seems better, there is very little room to move in the small brooder, the food and water take up so much space, but that is good, she is resting. I have the two brooders next to each other - the chicks know they are not together and are all along their shared wall.

I did see this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/659231/how-to-treat-a-broken-leg

But I just don't know what to be concerned about. I will check her over later this evening - what should I be looking for?

Does her leg seem to be getting better? Are her legs the same as the other chickens- as in feet pointing forward, legs an even amount apart (about 1/2 to an inch at that age) Do you have a picture?

Thanks for your response. After hours hovering over her analyzing her every move hubby and I decided to watch a movie and get our minds off her for awhile.

Her legs look normal and they look like the other chicks. She definitely seems to be much better than she was when it first happened and only limping a tiny bit now, hardly favoring it at all (but she does not have a whole lot of room to move around anyway). I did not take a picture - there really is not anything to see. Here is what I wrote on the Raising Baby Chicks section:

Okay, so we just tried our hand at "chick Hypnotism". I wanted to examine her so put her on her back, covered her head and my daughter massaged each side of her breast bone and she relaxed, stretched out and did not move at all! I gently examined the leg and when I got the the ankle on the injured side (not sure if that is what to call it, but the joint by where the toes come out) and did a light squeeze she pulled her leg in and curled up her toes so that seems to be the offending area - if that helps anyone at all.

I compared her feet to each other as well as compared them to her twin/best buddy, and they look the same. She is eating, drinking, pooping and snuggling with her twin/best buddy in the small brooder. So I guess now we wait it out and see how she is tomorrow.

Just curious as to how she is doing now! She may have had something stuck in her foot, since everything seems to be going well!
