Chick with large bump on head

Hi everyone I have recently hatched some chicks and one has a large round bump on its head that is about the size of a small pea, it seems fine otherwise no signs of weakness, just a little blood from hatching still stuck in its neck/head. Does anyone know what this bump might be? Thanks in advance, Lucie

If it's hard, it could be a tumor. If it's got some give to it, but it's got some resistance when you press on it, a cyst. If it's very soft, likely a water blister.

I would do nothing. As long as the chick is normal in every other respect, just watch it. The only problem you may encounter is the other chicks will probably peck it. I suggest painting a dab of Blu-kote on it. This will camouflage it while setting up a protective bacteria barrier in the even it bursts.
