My husband bought me a new cochin/mix chick a couple of days ago. I am not sure of her age but I am going to guess 4-6 weeks. She has absolutely NO feathers on her belly and bottom. I checked for mites and do not see any. The chick she came with seems fine. She also has an eye that is runny and she closes it quit a bit.
She eats, drinks, and poops fine. I am feeding them medicated chick starter and am putting Duramicin 10 in their water. They are in a quarantine coop that is moved around the yard so they have plenty of fresh air and clean grass. For her eye, I have been putting anitbiotic ointment in both of her eys with a q tip.
Any suggestions on why no feathers? Am I doing the right thing for her?
