Chick with pasty butt UPDATE

I don't know what's wrong.
I have a week old Leghorn chick that has a red, swollen vent. It's got a black crust on it.
She peeps ever time she poops, I think it's hurting her. Can you help?
UPDATE:
Great news. The chick's pasty butt is clearing up. I cleaned her off and rubbed some olive oil on her bum and she's doing great.

She's exploring with the others, though she still sleeps a lot more than the others, she's making a slow but steady recovery!

Is the black crust dried poop? That is pasty butt. Need to keep the butt clean. Can be serious. Clean gently with warm water.

Yeah, it looks a lot like that. I gave her sugar water and wiped her clean. The poo is hard to clean up. She also has trouble breathing, her nostrils are red and puffy.

Yes, You have to keep that pasty butt clean. I use warm water and a Q-tip and rub gentaly until clean. It may take a few times.
