Chick with splayed legs

I have a chick that's nearly 3 days old, it hatched under a hen but she rejected it so I took it inside. It's legs seem to be out to the sides so it's not moving around very efficiently and I taped them together earlier today after finding splayed legs and treatment for it. So far it seems to only be putting most of its weight on its left leg/hock and flapping the right leg like it's trying to get it out of the tape. It's still not really standing up on its feet unless I hold it up which I've been doing for a few minutes every time I come in to take it to the water dish and I've been trying to show it food but it's not really interested in it just yet. When it does get itself moving, it goes backwards and not forward and sometimes tips over, does all this sound normal? I'm not really sure if binding the legs is working or not as I'm only finding how to bind them and the after results but no in between videos or descriptions of what positive progress looks like during the process. Also I'm adding a picture of it's legs taped, does the placement look correct or should I adjust it so the legs are further apart? This is my first time having a chick with this so I'm just not sure if I'm doing this right. The second image is how the chick sits after applying the binding.

Since creating this post, the chick is still pretty wobbly but it has started to stand up on both feet. I can tell it's still putting most of its weight on the left and readjusting the right foot/leg several times before easing its weight on both feet. It's still going backwards and falling on its belly when it tries to go forward. Still no interest in food but it did start pecking at my finger and scuff in the seat I put it on. I've been keeping a little chick food on the floor of it's box just in case it can't stand up enough to get in the feeder and the pile keeps getting scattered but I haven't seen it actively eating, I've only seen it drink. It's pooped 13 times in the last 2 days, all were dark green and the last one was yellowish, does that mean it has been eating the chick feed or is that just the yolk it absorbed before hatching that's passing through its system?

I took off the tape to readjust it and it's still doing the splits but after applying new tape with a little more room between the legs, it's now started walking and following my hand, it's also standing while drinking unassisted and I got it to peck at the feed but I'm not sure if it actually ate anything yet

I was just wondering if you'd be willing to share an update? Did your chick live? If so, has it adapted to its leg issues? I have several with slipped tendons that have adapted. I currently have my first with splayed legs and I tried the hobble method, it helped but it was far too late to make a huge difference. Its legs still slide out from under it a bit when walking, and they definitely bow when standing. I'm just hoping it'll adapt and be okay enough to live in the coop with my other disabled chickens. I've never dealt with splayed legs so I'm not sure if there's a possibility of survival or if I'm just getting my hopes up.
