Chick with Stiff Legs

My friend sent me these pics of her frizzle chick shortly before it died. She came home and found it in the brooder on it's back with legs straight out. I'm thinking maybe a vitamin B deficiency...?

It might've been a genetic problem or a deformity in the egg.
Was it like that when it hatched?

No, the chick has been fine the couple weeks she's had it. She had left her house for about four hours and upon her return the poor little thing was stiff and stretched out. It died within hours of that.
