Hey- I have a big question. My first chick to hatch (it's day 22) is an ararucana. She was in the wrong position when hatching, but still gave it a big shot. My dad told me that I should help it after it had been pipping for a long time and was beginning to loose energy. When she hatched, I realized that she had a clear cord with some vessels leading to the bottom of the egg with some green/white goo. The cord led up to a little red "plug" on her underside. The cord seems to be drying up and the chick is VERY energetic, but the red plug is still there and wet. What is it? Will my chick survive? Oh and there's another chick on the way
