I was looking at my first batch of chicks and noticed that one chick's rear does not look like the others.. then I realized that chicks have tails, and this one doesn't appear to have one?
Does this mean it will look like an Araucana? I have heard of Araucana not have a tail, but I guess I thought it meant tail feathers, not the actual tail itself! I didn't realize there would be something missing

Dad is an EE rooster with kind of columbian coloring. There are three candidates for the mom.. My top two guesses are a gorgeous light blue with light brown lacing EE hen from McMurray, or a blue EE hen, not from hatchery stock, but I'm not sure of the exact origin.

If the tail is actually not there, no bones then yes, that's a definite throw back to it's origin and does happen, just not very often. Got yourself a start on going back to Araucana there, welcome to rumpless.

You have got yourself an EE with araucan traits. Here is my girl from Meyers hatchery. The rumpless EEs are few and far between. It so neat isnt it.

She doesnt even have a slight bump for a tail, the feather actually grow down and under.
