One of my cute new chicks is just missing wing feathers on one side should I just spray paint it black so they other chicks won't bother it they try and pick at it and hope that the feathers come in? First time I've ever had this happen and the chick seems fine other than that.

Sometimes it just takes some chicks longer to grow in feathers. The other chicks won't care, don't paint him!!!!

Just hatched there are no pin feathers showing or down and the other chicks are picking at that wing and then the chick picks himself so soon it will be bloody so then I will have to separate the chick. Normal that the other chicks bother it just no protection....

I hope so

I put wound-kote on 4 of mine last night. I don't think mine got "aggressive" but during their cuddle time in the middle of the night, some back feathers went missing on 3 EE's and a blood feather on the tail and wing of another chick got broken, so I have 4 running around purple right now, and I don't think the wound-kote is helping distract from the others noticing the "difference"...

the spray paint is for human hair if I was going to use anything else maybe shoe polish but this stuff is non toxic not rustolium I have some good wound stuff but it is silver and I think that would be worse
