Chick wont stand on its legs

Hi,

I have a chick who cannot stand up on its legs. It eats and drinks like it should but it just always sitting down and moving about while crouching. Im new to keeping chickens so I will greatly appreciate if someone can help.

Also from my last post alot of people were questioning whether my birds are chickens or wild birds and where I am from. My birds are chickens they are aseel breed you can check on google and Im from the UK.

Was the chick like this from hatch day on? If not, how long has the problem existed? It looks to be 2-3 weeks old??

It happened today in the morning when i took them out. The chick is 6 weeks old

I sure was way off on the age. A long as the chick is eating and drinking it will, most likely, mend on its own. I would separate it from the others until it mends should there be a number of chicks. That way it won't be further injured as the chicks run around. Being injured the chick won;t be able to compete for food. I would put one other chick with the injured chick as chickens do better when not alone.

Are there any obvious injuries? I'm guessing not. Minor injuries in birds heal fast and even more serious problems tend to work themselves out. Since the chick is eating and drinking, the injury is, hopefully, not too bad.

Thanks for your advice. No there isnt any signs of injury but when i lift the chick his left leg moves normally but his right leg is just touching its body and only i can move it with my hand so I think im right in saying the leg might be broken. The chick does live with the mother hen so im guessing she might have stepped on him. Is the anything i can give it to aid the healing process like vitamins. I heard from somewhere that vitamin b helps their legs and feet.

Vitamins might help. If the leg is held in the normal position there's little to do. I'd reduce the amount of space the chick is in to minimize movement and keep food and water close to the chick. Apple cider vinegar might be helpful (raw and unfiltered cider).

Thank you very much for your help i will move it into a smaller cage and provide him heat food and water and hopefully it will heal.

Vitamins indeed can help especially B vitamins. Did your chick turn out fine in the end?
