chick wont stop chirping update def. sick need advise

Hatched a few newbies the other day, One will not be quiet though and seems a bit off. I have been giving it some vitamins and making sure it eats and drinks (or at least trying to) but it just never stops chirping. Loud little bugger too, I can hear him all the way upstairs. It is with other chicks and I have hatched many before and never had such a noisy one. No pasty butt, or any other injuries or illnesses I can see, although I do not think it is eating much since it never stops chirping to do so. I may have to cull it just to get some peace! ok just kidding, well sort of

I had one like that once and I happened to have a broody with new chicks so I put it with her and he was quiet after that. (I know because I had her in the house at the time). Maybe it just has a strong mothering need. Does it stop chirping if you pick it up and snuggle it?

Seriously. I found a big, ugly, bright yellow stuffed chick and my singletons or noisy chicks settle right up to it. Plus, it's washable.

I think it is on its way out seems to be getting worse quickly. It has plenty of other chicks to cuddle with so I dont think it is lonely.

I have noticed that some chicks that hatch early are loud and stressed

Excessive chirping is very often a sign of a geneticly defective chick or a weak chick.

ok now I see that it is lifting/favoring its right leg and as it holds it up the leg twitches. Does this sound genetic (I hope so) or like a disease (oh I hope not!

I had a chick like that this past fall- it never shut up! It peeped constantly- on the top of it's lungs.

Now it's a most beautiful Silkie! And totally healthy.

And extremely friendly.

Some human babies are colicky and noisy. But they can be just fine once they get through it, right? Same can go for chicks, imo.
