Hi! I'm Judi, 70 yr old "mother" of 43 hens and 2 roosters....Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Ameraucanas, Cochins, Silkies, Buff Orpingtons, Polish, Silverlaced Wyandottes, Wellsummers, Rhode Island Amber, Black Copper Marans and probably others I can't think of. Brandy (3/4 Anatolian Shepherd 1/4 Great Pyrenees) is my dedicated chicken guard dog. Samson (German Shepherd) was the dedicated chicken-eater till the E-collar taught him better. Two cats and a husband round out the family. I love to garden and meet challenges of landscaping around chickens. First chickens ever....5 years ago....still on the learning curve!

Hi and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. I'm such your flock keeps you busy. There are forums / threads on many topics not related to chickens, so feel free to browse and make yourself at home where ever you wish.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

Welcome and Happy New Year!

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
