Chicken “beds”?

I’m putting up a “chick nursery”. Basically, a shed with 1 brooder box for tiny chicks, 1 for older chicks, and then the rest will have free run of the coop until around 16-18 weeks. Apart from the their roosting spots, should I add “beds”, similar to nesting boxes?

I think just the roosting bars is fine.
I don't think it's necessary to add them until they're laying age.

No, nests are for laying eggs, not sleeping.

Curious , what are your goals for this set up?

That age typically is still sleeping on the ground. Just provide a pile of straw/hay that will help insulate them from the ground.

My chicks don't begin to roost until 3-4mos of age. As long as they have clean dry bedding material, they will sleep on the floor just fine.
