Chicken Adjustment to new environment

I got my 7 mo. old Ameraucanas last Sat. So far, when they come out of their coop in the mornings, they run to a bush and stay there all day!!! They come out when I sit on a nearby porch but do not yet go to the yard and peck at the grass. Is this normal?????

Yep, perfectly normal. Takes them awhile, a couple weeks maybe, to get comfortable in their new surroundings.

Glad to stumble upon this. And here I was worrying about one of mine who slept all day...and I just got her and another one today.
