chicken and turkey eggs I am trying to hatch....but I don't understand

I try and candle and have before this but this is the first time I have tried to hatch any eggs....got one chicken and one died trying to get out I guess looked fully developed half the shell was cracked?

There is four more chicken eggs and the due date was this last friday and one sat. but nothing yet....I asked before on another thread how long should I keep them? Someone said a week. They don't look like much but pretty dark in the eggs and one end the pointed end is see through. I got another one just like it on my kitchen counter and I can see right through it. So I think something might be in there but will anything ever hatch?

The turkey eggs some seem empty some have a dark mass and it floats around when I turn the egg? Not sure what I am looking for at early stages as they get older?

Well I am no expert but I have turkey eggs that I set 3/26 out of 7 I'm pretty sure 3 are good tonite if they don't smell I leave them in by day 18 I can tell if they are good or not on dark eggs I don't bother until day 10 again by day 18 I'm pretty sure what's good but I have 3 in lock down now that I didn't think were good but they didn't smell so I left them in who knows what will hatch. The one you lost sounds like you opened the incubator while it was hatching? Did you monitor your humidity? I have some hatching tonite have my humidity close to 65% and I'm not opening the incubator until the first chicks are almost 3 days old it hurts chicks to loose moisture when they are trying to get out.
