I love watercolor, I think you captured chickens perfectly with your talent.

Can you update this thread with other watercolors you have available?

Miss_Jayne, I would be happy to create those three paintings for you. I would charge $90 for all three paintings (two to go in a 5x7 frame, and one to go into a 18x20 or a 20x24 with a larger mat border). Just let me know. You can contact me directly at [email protected].

Thank you Jayne, and others, for all your nice words.

I love your name: Lunachick!

Here are a few others. One is a drawing (Treat Time), done in ballpoint pen of hen running for treats. It is framed (around 18x19" frame). That one I'll sell for $65, and that includes shipping.

Another (Ipod Hen) is done in red sienna pastel pencil (approximately 10" square is my guess). That one you can have for $18 unframed, which includes shipping in a tube. I haven't signed it yet. This would actually look quite cute in a double matted frame with the internal mat being in blue (the compliment to red/orange).

Another is a blue hen, done in pastel pencil also. This one is in a very nice 13x15" frame. That one is $60, and that includes shipping.

That's all I have to show you, and as of this posting, I think all of the ones on my chicken art webpage (see link below and then go to my chicken art link) have sold...wow, that was less than 24 hours. Anyone interested in a painting may contact me directly at [email protected].

Thank you for your interest.

Brian

Thank you werblessed1.

Funny, I love drawing what's around home here. The dog, the chickens, the wife...whatever. Two months ago it was a nice warm day, and I set out in the backyard with my sketch pad and just watched the girls. When I decided to create paintings from some of the chicken sketches, and put them in a local gallery, 4 of the 5 sold within 3 weeks. Now...these aren't the paintings I normally produce. My watercolors and oils tend to be more serious, larger, and the sort of thing higher end galleries want me to deliver. The kicker is, however, that these chicken paintings are actually so much fun to do. Why? Because chickens, in addition to being wonderful pets and egg-layers, are continually striking these wonderful gestures all the time. They chase after moths, they inspect the ground, they chill-out, they dust bathe, and all of their various activities seem to produce new and interesting poses for me to try and capture. Sometimes I succeed, and sometimes I fail, but the process is so much fun.

Brian

Here's the sort of thing I normally paint (less fun, but still rewarding):

ha. Brian, I thought you meant your chickens MAKE artwork! Nice paintings!
I've been taking photos of the art my chickens make themselves. They take dust baths, then they shake off the dust in a big pile and draw in it. I'll post pics when I get them developed. I think they're trying to tell me something.
