Chicken at S.I. Animal Control--rescued

Hi! I've posted this in the Emergency section also. I received word that a white hen, possibly a Japanese Silkie, named Pearl is at the Staten Island NY Animal Control. They say she is very friendly. This is a kill shelter, so time is of the utmost. Great news--I just spoke to the people at Animal Control and Pearl has gone to a rescue!

If she was a rescue, I betcha someone was gonna eat her...blech...Just the thought of the black meat turns me off...
I'm glad she's out of there.

It's a delicacy in some areas... my mom wants to eat my silkies! I tell her that she can only have the roosters
