Hi! I'm sorry to interrupt, but I've been forwarded a photo of a white, possibly Japanese Silkie at the Staten Island Animal Control. Her name is Pearl and she is very friendly. If you know of anyone in the area who is willing to adopt her, or of somewhere that can take her, please call: Joann Caro, Lauren Zizza, Jennifer Waterbury or Peg Gugliotta at 718 966 3608, ASAP.

Time is of the utmost. This is a kill shelter.
THANKS!

Susan, you have pretty good information posted. Please see if you can obtain the address of the animal shelter. Be sure to list the STATE and COUNTY. Knowing this type information will help her chances of being adopted.

I don't know how to move the photo of Pearl onto this site, but if you'd like to send me an e-mail at [email protected], I'd be happy to forward it on to you.

I'm not a new member, but I appear as one because my e-mail provider changed. I've had Chicklet, a Rhode Island Red for four years. She's a house chicken.

Thanks for helping!

Yippee!!!

I just got through to Animal Control, and they said that Pearl has gone to a rescue. I am so happy.

Thanks for caring about her.

Yeah!!!! I am glad to hear such good news!!! You are a sweetie Susan!!!! I was just in the middle of doing a search for BYC members in New York and was sending each of them an email. But anyway, glad to know she was SAVED!!! Johnny

Dear Johnny,

Thank you so much for being willing to go the extra mile. Chickens are not a common pet here in Queens. Whenever I've told someone that in addition to our dogs that we have a chicken, they look at me like I'm crazy. I'm glad to know there are other chicken lovers in the area.

Thank you again for your interest in helping Pearl.

Susan:)
