Chicken ate a bit of avocado

Oh my, ours have had a fair amount of avocado over the years. Most always skin and pit free though.

I have put some acv in her water and she is eating and drinking now. And yes, she did just drink a bit so it was probably water coming from her mouth. I will update later but as of now, no bad signs. She laid an egg today earlier so I’m sure she’s alright.

Yes, it was most likely the water coming back up. I've seen my hens do that when they drink sometimes.

Start of the evening-still doing well. Poop looks fine, acts fine,took a dust bathe earlier.

so, I have a hen who seem to have found and eaten a avocado left by a squirrel while free ranging outside. I heard that avacados are poisonous to chickens but I have only seen her peck at the flesh inside, not the pit or the skin so is that okay? I got rid of the avocado and now I’m wondering if this hen will be alright?

The skins are toxic to them. But don’t worry, if she only ate the flesh, she’ll be fine.
