Chicken ate frog

When i lived in bama my birds loved the little green tree frogs (the ones that stick to windows), but every time they would eat one they would lay like 2 soft eggs. They had shells but not quite hardened or something.

I can’t remember it it was on the BYC FB page or on the CT Chicken Chatter FB, But very recently somebody posted a pic of a hen who had died while trying to swallow a toad. The owner had mistaken it for a frog...

Mine ate a juvenile mouse, a salamander, and a lizard all in a 10 minute timeframe. I have 4 pullets. Lol.

Ive never seen the mouse thing but i do know frogs and lizards were a normal for my old pullets a few yrs ago.

Watching them chase full grown mice is great but the best thing is watching them chase a butterfly.

Which raises a question, has any one witnessed a chicken eating a toad, or any other animal eating a toad, for that matter. I know they must have predators. I've seen a chipmunk eating a frog.

Yes, one of my older hens eat one so big idk how she even swallowed it it was bigger thn her head but she never got sick or anything, just a good meal i guess lol
