I have a small flock (4 hens & a rooster). I've been having coon issues for the first time and I've kept chickens for a few years. My flock is young and I'm leaving for vacation and am worried about them while I'm gone. I just had a friend offer to take them for the week to watch them. It's very kind of her to offer but I worry this weeklong move will traumatized them.

Am I overthinking this? They'll be fine, right?

Yeah, you're overthinking it. ;) Long as they have feed & water they won't be too emotionaly devastated or suffer any long term psychological trauma.
But they might stop laying eggs for a short time.

Thank you! I just needed to hear someone say it. LOL

Sorry, I don't think you're over thinking it.
Maybe these details are covered but not posted.
Does this friend have experience with chickens?
Do they have the proper housing? Safe and secure from predators and running off.
Do they have chickens of their own? Biosecurity may be a concern.
It might stress them out and it might not....depends on several things.
