Chicken Baths

I had seen on television where people that show their chickens actually give them baths in water. What type of shampoo or soap is safe to use on chickens?

I use a mild dish washing liquid from dawn. For show you want sometime that will remove old oil and dirt, but not damage the feathers or dry out the skin.
