I felt the same way after my second one from my first group fooled me. Both times the thought popped into my head that it was unusual for them to be first to roost. When I let them into the run the morning after the second one went in early, she was the first one out the door and went to the lettuce I had hung up. Seemed totally normal and when I checked 5 hours later she was laying on her side trying to get to some grain. They are masters at looking well when they are not. I have seen some picking and scratching at treats and it looks like they are eating but they aren't.Thank you I will check them all each morning and evening. I will keep a very close eye on them for anything different. As soon as I went in to give them their afternoon corn and sunflower hearts I noticed she wasn’t right but I will keep an even closer eye on them. Thank you for your advice.
I just feel gutted and that I should have picked up on something sooner.
You did the best you could. That's all any of us can do for any animal in our care.
