Hi,
We hatched 2 eggs (well, one of our hens did - not hers - she is a mother of all mothers and loves hatching eggs and raising chickens). Of course, one of them turned out to be a rooster. We don't kill our roosters--we keep them until we can find homes, and every night I carry them into our garage so they don't disturb the neighbors in the morning.
Anyway, the rooster and his sister are only divided by a wire fence, so she can hang out with him during the day, which she often does. But at night, she climbs onto a roost with her (adoptive) mother, and then she proceeds to cluck cluck cluck cluck for a long time. Not loud. She's just talking. But I don't know what she's saying or what would help her calm down. Any thoughts?
