Chicken behaviour/unusual poses

Chickenlady, I'm curious--What breed is your dark chick? I've never seen coloring like that on a chick. It's really pretty--reminds me of calico-cat-color.

Even a chicken can have a bad hair day...

I love using my game hens as broodies... it's even better when the chicks are bigger than "mom", Persephone was still trying to fit them under her wings at night when this was taken

That little Serama thought he would give a big girl a try when he felt the "urge". She said "I don't think so!" He got mad and attacked her and she said "O no you di-int!!" and beat him to a pulp. He never tried the "Big girls" again after that.

The chicken with the bad hair day , LOL what kind is she ? I have one very simular to her . I was told mine was an ole English Game hen .

She (Millie) is an Easter Egger, just a tick over 7 wks old. She looks like she's ready to attack, but really she was almost asleep when a gust of wind came up and I just happened to have the camera in my hand.

cajunlizz, If yours is also an Easter Egger, she will likely have puffy cheeks ("muffs"), a beard and green ("willow") legs, and she will likely lay blue-ish, greenish or pinkish eggs.
If it is an Old English Game, she won'd have muffs or a beard, and her feathering will be fairly close/tight to her body, rather than more fluffy.
Good luck with ID.
