Chicken being picked on

That doesnt seem to be it then. Is she broody? My hens beat up on the broody hens.
That may be it. If broody is what I think it is. She has been making digits near rocks, and laying in them with her head tucked in. She was also in a nesting box doing the same thing. I'm not sure if she has started laying though. We did find an egg outside of the coop in the fenced in area today. That's the first time we've found one outside is a nesting box.

"Divots" near rocks...not digits.

I think the hen cant be broody unless she has been laying already? Have they always pecked at her, from the beginning? If so, maybe the Polish explanation is the best one. Tensions may be a little more high now that they are coming into lay.

She always did her own thing, and the others never bothered her. I know of one that is fed laying. I saw her. We find 3-4 eggs a day, so a few others. We did find an egg down by the rock that the Polish has been laying near. I'm not positive if it was her though. I'll have to keep an eye on her.

I have a few Polish in a mixed flock and have found they get much more confident when you trim back the feathers around their eyes and they can see better.
