Hi,
One of our Australorp girls appears to have an injury to her bum. I am not sure what caused it.
I found an egg covered in blood, so I separated her from the 3 others who have no signs of injury. She has feathers all covered in blood at the rear, and also has a creamy discharge and it looks like some bruising. I have cleaned the area with some salty water. She is in the tractor by herself and seems to be mobile enough. The other chickens are out free ranging like they normally do during the day. I have read that they will attack each other with blood about, so will keep her separate for awhile
Any other suggestions or ideas of what may have caused it?
Should I take her to the vet?
Much thanks in advance
Marianna
