My favorite chicken died because of me and I've never forgiven myself. But I've found that there is no use beating yourself about it. That's a bit hectic and yes you are right there is no use in beating yourself for it. After losing several animals, either dogs or chickens, I've come to understand that there is nothing we can do when it comes to death and some diseases. Some things are just not in our control, we can't stop or even prevent some things from happening. This applies to both people and animals, which I completely understand.

It's normal to feel guilt after losing a chicken. One questions themself - did I take right action? did I act soon enough? what could I have done differently. I personally agonize over analysis for days after a chicken dies. It's normal for a caring sentient being to do this (I think). You did not kill your chicken - it was just her time.

Yes, I do notice kind of felling guilty after losing an animal but I understand that it's out of my control. Thanks for comforting me
