Hi everyone, were planning on getting a new flock of chickens this spring and are trying to decide what kind to get. We'd like to get a rooster and are trying to find the most docile type. We've hardly mostly that Buff Orpingtons are the way to go. Were also planning on getting BO, leghorn, Wyandotte, Sussex, and EE hens. Do you think that would work out as a flock? Well most likely get 12 hens and 1 roo. Any other suggestions on docile breeds?

I'm not sure but for eggs I've found that the ones you said tend to be the best layers. I'm sure 12 hens and a roo would be fine if thy are all within a few pounds of each other.
