I really did try the chicken calculator but I just didn't get it.

We have two Old English Bantam hens one of them has started laying.

If the eggs are fertile there are two possibilities on who the Roo is...

Possibility #1 Clyde our resident top dog bantam who has been hanging with these girls a lot the past few days.

Possibility #2 B.B. our dearly departed Barred Rock Cochin who we lost late last week. He hung out with those two girls a lot till he passed. They started hanging with Clyde after B.B. was gone.

I was just trying to figure out what these chicks will look like if they were crossed with these roos.

If they are off of Clyde, probably more similarly to a OEGB.

If off of BB, I would expect a increase in size, possibly feathered legs (this varies of course), possibly a different leg color than white assuming they are pure OEGB and Clyde doesn't have any other color than white (and assuming BB had yellow/black/blue legs as commonly seen on Cochin's depending upon variety), etc. If the hen JUST started laying, I would expect all fertile eggs to be off of Clyde.

God bless,
Daniel.

If your hens are just starting to lay for the first time, I wouldn't suggest trying to hatch the eggs for at least several weeks. They will gain in size as the hens get more used to laying and will have a better chance of giving you healthy babies. Unless, of course, you are desperate to see if you can save some genes from the dead rooster.
