Chicken call

I work at night and have to put the chickens in the pen before I go..
I found that i can shake trail mix
bag of bugs...& My chickens come running...
Just hoping that a handful of the trail mix a day for 3 chickens.
Is okay for them it it works so well to get birds in at night

Welcome! I call mine when I'm doing treats, so they come when I call them too. Probably a smaller amount of treats for only three birds would be best.

I call out chick chick chick and they come running. It took some time though. We filled our birdfeeder with sunflower seeds and once or twice while they were free ranging we would do the call and bang on the feeder so it would rain seeds. Theyd come running just for that. Now they come just to chick chick chick. Its really helpful if we ever need to leave in the evening

Yep, having a call and giving a small amount of treat works great, to get them back in the run or coop.

One way to make it healthier would be to vary the treat everyday, say, one day use scratch, the next mealworms, the next sunflower seeds, etc. That way they get a variety of nutrients and it's more like a natural diet.
