Chicken can’t stand or walk and black bugs all over me after treating hen in coop

Thank you so much for responding.
I read the mites will go through the entire flock. I’ve had some on me after treating my hen.
tThsnk you for responding. Is there any way to protect myself From the mites from getting on me? I’ve worn gloves and covered my clothes but I take a shower each time after treating her because the mites may have gotten under my clothes. Thank you.

Showering after treating for the mites is what I would do. Getting started on the treatment is important.
Is there any special way I need to follow when treating the hens since I’ll have to treat the entire flock. I started on vitamin B, giving food and water by syringe, ordered spray and added electrolytes to water. Thank you. I

I get the willies just reading this. After dealing with mites I drew a bath, put some bleach in the water and soaked for a while. My clothes went straight into the washing machine, also with bleach.

A guy at the feed store showed me a good trick. They spray all the birds they take in for consignment sale as part of their biosecurity plan. Anyway, he grabs a chicken by the legs and holds it upside down with one hand. The bird instinctively spreads its wings and all the feathers lift. Then he sprays it from behind with the other hand. The whole process only takes about five seconds and it gets the spray down to the skin while avoiding the eyes.. I'm sure the chicken doesn't like being upside down but it can't be more traumatic than holding it down and trying to turn it every which way while pumping the sprayer.
