I know this is almost 10 years old now but this helped me so much! I'm going through this almost exactly. Your pictures, updates, and conclusion as helped me and put my mind at ease! We lost a girl a few weeks ago because she got spooked and broke part of her own neck and I was so scared this was going to end the same way! We're only on day 2 of recover but this post gave me so much hope!
