That was fascinating! Most people have no idea that chickens are even cognizant of their surroundings or have food preferences or any kind of intelligence. I have heard that you train prey animals by reward where the reward equals cessation of punishment, like a horse moving away from the pressure of a leg or with the pull of the bit, whereas predator animals like a dog are trained by reward where the reward is actually food or praise or toy etc. The chickens though, are prey animals being trained with clicker and food reward, very interesting.
