That's what I said too, but when my broody kept going broody I through in the towel, haha. My coop is way over crowded right now.Good lord, no more chicks for me. I have broody jail set up now and it is working well.

This looks lovely! How many sq ft did you add? I'm impressed. Everyone has to learn and experience things for themselves. I have owned chickens on and off since I was a teenager and am still learning. More space is always better. It doesn't always work out that way in the beginning (chicken math throws a wrench in things lol) but I love that you have taken steps for your birds to be comfortable. That's great!I went from 5x10 to 10x10.
The design just happened, but I do like the high/low coop design. In the addition, I added 2 5x12 closeable vents, a 14x21 window, and the 26x26 skylight that I modified to also vent.
Ventilation appears to be working well.
The area has to be more comfortable because hens tend to hang out in the coop more often. This never happened before unless they were laying an egg
I also added a drainage tile because of the slope behind the coop.
