Most docile large breed rooster?

A story on that. Rhode Island Reds are often trashed on here, both as aggressive to other chickens and to people. Several year ago a gentleman on here was hurt by those posts. He raised RIR's for show and was an APA judge. He bred his to not be aggressive to other chickens or people and they were not.
They aren't exhibition standard but I have a RIR cockerel and two pullets at the moment that aren't aggressive in the slightest and happily get along in a mixed flock. The boy in particular is a complete sweetheart. I did eat his brother for going after a broody at the height of the "terrible teens" hormonal madness, but even he was never the slightest bit aggressive to humans and only ever to chickens when it came to mating.

The breeder a lot of my other birds came from is always posting pictures and videos on FB of his cocks sitting on his shoulders or being held and petted and clearly enjoying it.

I would like to point out that the best cockerels are generally those raised by older, seasoned hens. When the cockerels hit puberty, these dowagers are of no mind to tolerate youthful shenanigans. It usually does not take long for them to knock some manners and respect into the juveniles. I have to say this was the case with my Ameraucanas. At snack time when I scattered scratch, the OG hens would not let them eat first. They made the boys keep their distance and wait their turn. They had to earn the right to take their place as "adult" males in the flock, and they had to work at it. Only when they demonstrated restraint and respect did the girls begin to accept them as part of the flock and now, as leaders.
