Chicken Coop Camera System

Yeah I don't consider 12 SECONDS at a time a good, not at all a good, amount of time for getting any quality or quantity of video. Not even for non subscribed usage. Not worth the effort downloading 12 seconds of video at a time. Might as well just take the card out put in another and take the card that was in it. Seems faster.

They give you 12 seconds just so you can see bits and want to make it easier by getting the paid subscription.

Either way I'm not gonna bother. I have IP cams all over. Plus the cell cams I use with ewelink.

Although I did want to try the SONOFF version.
I don't think you understand how wyze works. Yes you can record 12 seconds to the CLOUD with no minisd card in the camera and access it. But when you put a minisd card into the camera it records all day to that sd card. So your events will still go to the cloud and notify you but you also have everything recorded locally.

Then if you want, you can access days of video from your phone if you have the camera connected to the internet. I have NEVER pulled a card to go back and watch video. Sure sometimes it will crash or hang up a little, but my reolink $1k camera system does that as well at work. No subscription required. In fact, I did a subscription to 1 of my work cameras because I wanted to use their .ai to cut down on false alarms. It's not really worth it IMO.

Wyze has plenty of issues, but being able to not watch full video of the past isn't one of them. You can watch all your sd card holds.

Did the OP ever settle on one? These are cheap enough that you can probably try them out before going with a system.

I use Wyze cameras. I believe they've come out with a wireless version but my coop is wired so I use the plug-in version. I bought 4 cameras for under $100 dollars. I did have to get a better router to get the wifi signal out to the coop. My coop is about 100 feet from the router location in the house.
I can check on the birds whenever I need. When on vacation, I actually logged into the coop cam one night to talk my nephew through getting a broody out of the nest during nightly lock up and head count. You can speak through the cameras too.
Me too, on the Wyze, love being able to talk to the Roo when I need to get his attention.. Too funny his reaction.
