I posted a few months ago about our homemade coop. I will post pics again of it. We have since moved the coop to an area next to the house and we are constructing a fence out of pallets so the chicks can have more room to wander. Overall i am happy with our coop and it is holding up nicely. In the future, the only thing i would really change is the run being taller so its easier to walk through. Other than that i love our coop and design.

I would also like to make note after adding bricks alonh side the coop and adding lattice we have not had any issues with any of our 4 dogs. After a few weeks the dogs have gotten used to them being in the yard and no longer stalk them. We would love to let them free roam the yard but with 4 dogs we feel it wouldn't be safe. So we are constructing an area for the chickens where the dogs cannot get to them. Also with the pallet fence we intend to place wood shelves on the inside so we can plant herbs in the top of the pallets. We are looking into plants that repell fleas and mosquitoes. Are there any plants i need to worry about being unsafe for the girls? We started out with 6 chicks and two turned out to be roos. So we are down to 4.
