Use pine needles or hay sprinkled over your sand in the coop after you dry it out.

Thanks for everyones advise. I have placed chopped hemp ontop of the sand and the smell has dissapeared. I put 4-5 inches on the sand. My girls love it now..... im going with the deep litter method. I could'nt stand the smell...it was driving me crazy.
Looking for some cheep DE powder now here in the uk. Does anyone know how much I should sprinkle on the bedding.
