I am interested to see what people feel about insulating the floor of a chicken coop. My plans are to put strips of wood along the 2x6s and than cutting strips of plywood down insulating with blue board.Than laying the actual plywood flooring down.I figure this will keep their feet warm and block out predators. Is this over kill.I just did this at work so that we could build an addition on the decking that was already there. Please if any one has a opinion or has any advice I would interested to know how it turned out.

I insulated my walls and ceiling but not the floor. Right now I have anywhere from 4 inches to a foot of bedding in my coop for insulation. My coop is on skids so to prevent air movement under the coop I pile snow up against the sides to cut down on drafts and help keep the floor warm.
