Chicken coop - help needed

My husband & I are busily building our first coop. My concern is the human door. It is 3 feet wide & swings out. How will we be able to enter the coop & not have to worry about a chicken or two running/flying out? Our run will be on the opposite side of the coop from the human door. Suggestions would really be appreciated.

One thing to do is to put a piece of chicken wire across the door on the inside....one that's just 2 feet high so you can step over it...but it will stop the chickens darting past your legs when you open the door.
