Chicken coop my husband built

Thank you! Yeah, they were hammering nails in boards and "building" things, not sure how safe a 2 and 3 year old with a hammer is though! ;)

We had 10 and one turned out to be a roo so we wanted to get a couple more. I went yesterday and picked up 3 more chicks so now we have 12 hens and 1 roo. (13) :)

Thats what we just did too. We got 6 and one was a roo so we just got 4 new pullets. To make 9 hens & 1 roo. I gotta say, going with new construction is nice. I used recycled wood palettes and some "yard wood". So planning was kinda limited. Are planning to have 2 dozen? I ask because you have a lot of nesting boxes.

Haha, yeah I had read somewhere in a book it was best to have one nesting box per bird, but then I get on here and everyone says you only need 1 per 4-5 birds, so at least mine wont have to wait in line?
